NDIS Group Therapy

Group Therapy for Anxiety Management, Emotion Regulation and Daily Functioning Suitable for NDIS Clients

Working with NDIS providers:

Anxiety Solutions CBT is committed to offering gold standard treatment. We work collaboratively with organisations to deliver results catered to your client. We, like you, are working to improve the quality of individuals’ lives.

How the groups work

Anxiety Solutions CBT Psychology Practice runs groups to assist individuals to learn how to regulate their emotions, manage their anxiety and improve daily functioning. The groups are centred around learning a 4-step process and practical tools which help individuals respond to events more rationally and calmly.

Regular groups run for ten sessions and participants work through a manual.

How we adapt our groups

Given the practical nature of our course, with the emphasis on practice and repetition in the sessions, groups are easily adapted to suit each group’s participants.  We can cater for individuals with intellectual disabilities by reducing the number of sessions to six and teaching skills in ways that suit each participant.

What makes this course unique?

  • This course has been formulated and developed by Senior Clinical Psychologist, Renee Mill and is based on the evidence-based theories of CBT and Neuro-psychotherapy.
  • This is not a regular psychology group where feelings are the focus. It is skills based to improve daily functioning.
  • This program ensures that tools and skills are practiced regularly ensuring that they become integrated into the participant’s thinking and lifestyle.

 Advantages of this course:

  • This course works well face-to-face or on zoom. This means that regardless of lockdown or accessibility issues, any individual can have the opportunity to benefit from the tools.
  • Working in a group provides the benefit of meeting other people going through the same thing and helps participants feel less alone.
  • Group therapy provides the opportunity to learn from other people’s examples.
  • Group therapy is more cost effective.
  • Being in a group often increases accountability which encourages participants to practice their new learnings more.

Size of the group

Groups are kept small, 3-5 individuals. This ensures there is adequate individual attention. We go out of our way to make each participant feel safe, secure, and valued.

Small groups also provide the opportunity for the group leader to adapt her teaching style if necessary.

Suitability

Interested participants will be screened for suitability in an intake call. The group leader will do her best to match participants.

The call also gives prospective participants the opportunity to speak to the course leader, see if they feel comfortable with her and ask any questions they may have.

What is the investment?

$900 which includes:

  • 6 group sessions of sixty minutes each.
  • 15-minute intake call with the therapist.
  • 30-minute closure session with the therapist.
  • 4-step process worksheets.
  • Support tools.
