The Anxiety Solutions CBT program to reduce anxiety can be done as an e-therapy course.
This means that anyone, no matter where you live, can have access to this information and treatment via email.
What is e-therapy?
e-Therapy stands for therapy that can be done utilising electronic media such as email.
The Anxiety treatment manual developed by Renee Mill is uniquely suited to e-therapy. Every chapter in the manual focuses on one tool in depth. It comprises some content about the tool and then requires the client to fill out some exercises specific to that tool.
The e-therapy process
A psychologist at Anxiety Solutions CBT will work with you, step by step from initial consultation to graduation.
Step one: Screening.
Initially, there is some screening to determine whether or not you are suitable to do the course. Since there is no face to face interaction, suicidal patients and severely depressed patients are not eligible.
Step two: Ten session program.
Once you are assessed to be suitable, materials and worksheets will be sent to you via email. You will be required to read the material and to fill in the worksheets. You may email the exercises back to the psychologist.
However, the 4 step worksheet needs to be read to the psychologist so that your progress can be monitored. The psychologist will be available by phone or skype.
Who should do the e-therapy course?
This type of therapy is ideal for people who:
- live remotely
- have social phobia
- do not enjoy communicating verbally
- have verbal expressive difficulties
Advantages of doing e-therapy
The beauty of this course is that it is simple and much of the information is contained in the 4 step worksheet. You do not have to be an academic to understand the process.
Also, you can do it in your own time and in the comfort of your home.
