Gerri has worked extensively in public health and private practice for many years. She is enthusiastic about how clinical psychology delivered in a compassionate manner can really make people feel better and live more fulfilling lives. While warm and caring, Gerri take an evidence based CBT approach as this maximises the chance of people getting well.
Although Gerri sees people across the age spectrum, there is a soft spot in her heart for helping children with anxiety. She also is keen on supporting people with their parenting journey.
For over ten years Gerri has worked in Weight Management so she is knowledgeable about the challenges of keeping children, adults and families physically well in a society where it is so difficult to stay healthy.
Gerri joined Anxiety Solutions CBT in 2016. She has comprehensive clinical experience in treating:
- Child anxiety disorders
- Helping adolescents through the HSC
- Adult depression
- Anxiety disorders such as OCD, Health anxiety and so on
- Eating disorders
- Weight Management
- Mood instability
- Help with painful life transitions such as divorce
- Couples in conflict or wishing to improve their relationship
Gerri has presented nationally and internationally on:
- Paediatric obesity
- The rise in “screen time” and what to do about it, and
- How to implement excellent cognitive-behaviour therapy in private practice.
