Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is often referred to as ACT. This model focuses on the use of mindfulness and values based behaviours in order to reduce distress. By identifying what your values are, what you stand for in life, and engaging in behaviours consistent to these values the experience of anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns can reduce. In short, this method looks to teach clients how to accept discomfort in their lives as simply as they may accept happiness, excitement and joy.
