Everybody gets anxious from time to time, it’s a basic human instinct and one that is essential to our survival. However if you find yourself in a constant state of anxiety, or feeling so anxious at times you are unable to go about your normal life, then you may be suffering from a disorder. At our clinic in Darling Point, we can help you learn to manage and overcome your condition and return to enjoying your life.
Our counselling approach and experience
Our Darling Point clinic offers treatment in the form of cognitive behavior therapy. Head psychologist Renee Mill has over two decades of experience working with anxiety sufferers and has found over that time that cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is the most effective form of counselling for this condition. CBT is all about giving you the skills to manage your own mental health, and then helping you apply them to lessen your anxiety. This way you effectively overcome your issues without developing a dependence on therapy.
The philosophy in our Darling Point clinic
Our philosophy is very much one of self-empowerment. The goal of our counselling is to get you to a point where you are in control of your own life, with an effective management plan to offset or minimise anxiety when it does arise. Over 10- 15 sessions, you and your psychologist will work together towards gaining control and perspective over your anxiety. You will be given a manual to take with you so that even after your sessions have concluded, you still have a source of support to reference if you ever need to.
